Results of mobile channel sounding measurements in the 4.9 GHz public safety band
2010 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2010This paper describes a channel sounding system and a corresponding data processing method for the characterization of wireless channels in the 4.9 GHz public safety band. The equipment and subsequent processing enable high-resolution estimation of propagation delay, Doppler frequency shift, and direction-of-arrival (azimuth and elevation) associated ...

Modeling urban peer-to-peer channel characteristics for the 700 MHz and 4.9 GHz public safety bands
2012 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2012We report on models developed for peer-to-peer (ground-based) wireless channels for an urban environment in the 700 MHz and 4.9 GHz bands, both allocated for public safety and “emergency responder” applications. Results are based upon measurements taken in downtown Denver, CO for link distances up to approximately 100 m.

A compact frame-integrated multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for the L TE band 42/4.9-GHz band/5.2-GHz WLAN wearable devices is proposed in this paper. By disposing a meandered loop strip and a grounded monopole on the inner surface of a 0.8-mm-thick rectangular FR4 frame, a dual-band antenna is formed, and the impedance bandwidth thereof ...
