Quantum dynamics of a vibrational mode of a membrane within an optical cavity

open access: yes, 2010
Optomechanical systems are a promising candidate for the implementation of quantum interfaces for storing and redistributing quantum information. Here we focus on the case of a high-finesse optical cavity with a thin vibrating semitransparent membrane in

Risks for human health related to the presence of plant lectins in food

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract The European Commission asked the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to assess the risk related to the presence of plant lectins in food. Based on the available evidence, the CONTAM Panel considered only phytohaemagglutinin (PHA), a legume lectin from beans (Phaseolus sp.), for the risk characterisation.

Changes in pharmacokinetics of single dose of fentanyl in simulated high altitude in rats

open access: yes陆军军医大学学报
Objective To explore the pharmacokinetic changes of single dose of fentanyl in rats in a simulated high-altitude and contributing factors. Methods Thirty-six healthy female SD rats (6~8 weeks old, 250±20 g) were randomly divided into high-altitude-acute ...

Contradictory uncertainty relations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We show within a very simple framework that different measures of fluctuations lead to uncertainty relations resulting in contradictory conclusions.

Synthesis and Evaluation of Fluorinated Peptidomimetics Enabling the Development of 18F‐Labeled Radioligands Targeting Muscarinic Acetylcholine Receptor Subtype M3

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 20, Issue 24, December 15, 2025.
Fluorinated peptidomimetics targeting muscarinic acetylcholine receptor subtype M3: Fluorinated peptidomimetic compounds based on a β‐alanine‐glycine scaffold, with lead compound 24 demonstrating high M3 selectivity and submicromolar potency. The first M3‐selective positron emission tomography radioligand, [18F]24, is synthesized and will be evaluated ...

Squeezing enhancement by damping in a driven atom-cavity system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In a driven atom-cavity coupled system in which the two-level atom is driven by a classical field, the cavity mode which should be in a coherent state in the absence of its reservoir, can be squeezed by coupling to its reservoir.

Integrative Toxicology Profiling of Thuja sutchuenensis Essential Oil: From LD50 Safety Assessment to Hepatic Apoptosis and Gut Microbiota Modulation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study provides the first experimental evidence of Thuja sutchuenensis essential oil (TEO) toxicity, with an oral LD50 of ~3800 mg/kg in mice. Sub‐LD50 doses cause focal hepatic necrosis via apoptosis/oxidative stress–related pathways without systemic inflammation or renal injury.

Population Pharmacokinetic Model of Pegbing in Healthy Subjects and Chronic Hepatitis B Patients

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 12, Page 2014-2025, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Pegbing (peginterferon alpha‐2b) is a polyethylene glycol‐modified interferon α‐2b injection that has demonstrated favorable efficacy and safety profiles in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB). This study aimed to develop a population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) model of Pegbing in both healthy subjects and CHB patients and to investigate ...

Study of biodegradable poly(butylene succinate‐co‐adipate) (PBSA) maleation: Analysis of grafting, thermal, and rheological behaviour

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 103, Issue 11, Page 5357-5372, November 2025.
Maleation of poly(butylene succinate‐co‐adipate) (PBSA): Effect of the initiator concentration on the grafting percentage. Abstract Herein, the effects of varied concentrations of an organic peroxide and maleic anhydride (MA) on the grafting percentage as well as the amount of gel content, rheological, and thermal properties of MA‐grafted‐poly(butylene

Composite quantum systems and environment-induced heating

open access: yes, 2011
In recent years, much attention has been paid to the development of techniques which transfer trapped particles to very low temperatures. Here we focus our attention on a heating mechanism which contributes to the finite temperature limit in laser ...
