PFAS Exposure and Postoperative Weight Regain in Adolescents After Bariatric Surgery: Findings From the Teen‐LABS Study

open access: yesObesity, Volume 33, Issue 10, Page 1930-1954, October 2025.
Elevated baseline PFAS levels, particularly PFOS, PFHxS, and PFHpS, were associated with greater BMI regain, reduced weight loss, and increased waist circumference in adolescents after bariatric surgery. These sulfonic acid PFAS showed a dose‐dependent effect on BMI regain.

Collectively enhanced resonant photoionization in a multi-atom ensemble

open access: yes, 2011
Photoionization of an atom via interatomic correlations to N neighboring atoms may be strongly enhanced due to constructive interference of quantum pathways.

Exploring the nutrient profiles of fruits and vegetable by‐products for improving food system sustainability

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, Volume 2, Issue 3, Page 353-365, September 2025.
Abstract The generation of by‐products from fruit and vegetable (F&V) processing industries poses opportunities and challenges, containing essential nutrient sources necessary for human health. The present study comprehensively analyzes the nutrient compositions and fatty acid content of by‐products derived from apples, pomegranate, beetroot, carrots ...

Dynamical decoherence in a cavity with a large number of two-level atoms

open access: yes, 2004
We consider a large number of two-level atoms interacting with the mode of a cavity in the rotating-wave approximation (Tavis-Cummings model). We apply the Holstein-Primakoff transformation to study the model in the limit of the number of two-level atoms,

Realizing a variable isotropic depolarizer

open access: yes, 2012
We demonstrate an isotropic depolarizing channel with a controllable degree of depolarization. The depolarizer is composed of four birefringent crystals and half-wave plates.

Twisted superfluids in moving frame

open access: yes, 2020
{Helical waveguide filled by superfluid is shown to transform the linear displacements of reference frame $\vec V$ into rotations of atomic ensemble and vise versa rotations of reference frame $\vec \Omega_{\oplus}$ are the cause of linear displacements ...
