Parvimonas micra promotes carcinogenesis of colorectal cancer through phenyllactic acid‐induced DNA damage

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Multiomics analysis of the faecal samples from CRC patients found that upregulation of P. micra and PLA was associated with the CRC development. PLA from P. micra via pdhD genes could induce DNA damage via AHR signalling pathway to mediate carcinogenesis.

GC × GC‐TOF MS and Sensory Profiling of Aroma Compounds in Magnolia Species: Effects of Processing Methods on Volatile Retention in M. wufengensis

open access: yesFlavour and Fragrance Journal, Volume 41, Issue 3, Page 487-503, May 2026.
The first comparative analysis of Magnolia scents reveals that M. wufengensis is characterised by a high aldehyde content, exhibiting a fresh, sweet, and fruity fragrance profile. Furthermore, freeze‐drying preserves 6.7 times more 2‐nonenal compared to shade‐drying, highlighting its superior efficacy in retaining key volatile compounds.

A [4Fe-4S] cluster resides at the active center of phosphomevalonate dehydratase, a key enzyme in the archaeal modified mevalonate pathway

open access: yesA [4Fe-4S] cluster resides at the active center of phosphomevalonate dehydratase, a key enzyme in the archaeal modified mevalonate pathway
The recent discovery of the archaeal modified mevalonate pathway revealed that the fundamental units for isoprenoid biosynthesis (isopentenyl diphosphate and dimethylallyl diphosphate) are biosynthesized via a specific intermediate, trans-anhydromevalonate phosphate.

Vitamin K2 Extends Lifespan by Alleviating Mitochondrial Stress via the JNK‐1/SIR‐2.1/DAF‐16 Signaling Axis in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 5, May 2026.
Vitamin K2 activates the JNK‐1/SIR‐2.1/DAF‐16 signaling axis in C. elegans, alleviating mitochondrial stress, reducing ROS accumulation, preserving mitochondrial function, and extending lifespan. These findings reveal a novel anti‐aging mechanism of Vitamin K2 through mitochondrial protection and stress resistance enhancement.

Rh‐Catalyzed Chemodivergent Parallel Kinetic Resolution and Desymmetrization of Enynes and Dienynes with Acrylamides

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 17, 20 April 2026.
Rh‐catalyzed chemodivergent parallel kinetic resolution of racemic 1,6‐enynes with α‐fluoroacrylamides or mixtures of different acrylamides proceeded via [2+2+2] cycloaddition and C–H alkylation to afford structurally and stereochemically distinct products with high selectivity under mild conditions.
