Biotrophic and saprophytic fungi from the Rhodocybe-Clitopilus clade (Entolomataceae): two new species and one new record in subtropical China [PDF]

open access: yesMycoKeys
This study proposes two new species and a new record in the Rhodocybe-Clitopilus clade, based on comprehensive morphological and molecular analyses. The nuc rDNA internal transcribed spacer region ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 (ITS), the large subunit ribosomal RNA ...

Interaction of 5-S RNA, 5.8-S RNA and tRNA with Rat-Liver Ribosomal Proteins [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1978
In order to ascertain 5-S RNA, 5.8-S RNA and tRNA binding proteins from eukaryotic ribosomes, affinity chromatography of the rat liver ribosomal 40-S and 60-S subunit proteins on immobilized RNAs was used. Rat liver 5-S RNA, 5.8-S RNA and tRNA were immobilized via 3′-end ribose to adipic-acid-hydrazide-epoxy-activated Sepharose 6B.

Inferring population structure and genetic diversity of the invasive alien Nootka lupin in Iceland

open access: yesPolar Research, 2021
Polar and subpolar regions are known for their particular vulnerability and sensitivity to the detrimental effects of non-indigenous species, which is well exemplified by the Nootka lupin (Lupinus nootkatensis) spread in Iceland.

Molecular reassessment of diaporthalean fungi associated with strawberry, including the leaf blight fungus, Paraphomopsis obscurans gen. et comb. nov. (Melanconiellaceae)

open access: yesIMA Fungus, 2021
Phytopathogenic fungi in the order Diaporthales (Sordariomycetes) cause diseases on numerous economically important crops worldwide. In this study, we reassessed the diaporthalean species associated with prominent diseases of strawberry, namely leaf ...

Extraction of total RNA from single-oocytes and single-cell mRNA sequencing of swine oocytes

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2018
Objective Analyses of single oocytes are essential for a fine dissection of molecular features governing developmental competence. We adapted the phenol–chloroform procedure for the purification of total RNA from single oocytes. Results Key modifications

Piper auritum (Kunth) Fungal Endophytes: A Source of Metabolites to Inhibit the Formation of Advanced Glycation End Products

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
Endophytic fungi of P. auritum were evaluated for their ability to produce inhibitors of formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). Neopestalotiopsis sp. H2 and Diaporthe sp. H5 extracts were the most active. So, we performed their chemical profiling by untargeted and phenolics‐targeted metabolomic approaches to identify the potential ...

Exploring Bioactive Metabolites From Fusarium falciforme and Aspergillus terreus Isolated From Protease‐Rich Fruits: Antifungal, Antitrypanosomal, and Enzymatic Inhibitory Activities

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
Metabolites from fungi isolated from protease rich‐fruits displayed antifungal, antitrypanosomal and enzymatic inhibitory activities. ABSTRACT Fungal secondary metabolites display remarkable chemical diversity and biological potential, with applications in agriculture and pharmaceuticals. This study isolated and characterized bioactive metabolites from

Climacocystaceae fam. nov. and Gloeoporellaceae fam. nov., two new families of Polyporales (Basidiomycota)

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
Polyporales is a diverse group of Agaricomycetes including more than 2,500 species belonging to 255 genera and 18 families. Recently, many studies focused on the classification of Polyporales, but the familial placements of some taxa remain uncertain. In
