An effective and efficient matheuristic for the electric vehicle routing problem with capacitated recharging stations

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, EarlyView.
Abstract In this paper, we address the problem of routing a fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) to serve a set of customers, geographically distributed, within their time windows. We assume that EVs may also be recharged en route, and the amount of energy recharged at a recharging station (RS) is a decision variable itself, that is, partial recharges are ...

Multiplexed Nanosensors for Real‐Time Monitoring of VOC‐Mediated Signalling Response in Plants

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To enhance crop performance, intercropping strategies leverage volatile organic compound (VOC)‐driven interactions with companion plants that constitutively emit VOCs. Despite the agricultural importance, the mechanisms and kinetics of VOC‐mediated sensory transduction in receiver plants eavesdropping on neighbouring non‐kin emitters remain ...

Understanding and truth in Hannah Arendt: The critical reception of the Eichmann trial and the will

open access: yesThe Southern Journal of Philosophy, EarlyView.
Abstract This article highlights a shift in Hannah Arendt's intellectual development regarding the will during the 1960s, traced into the early 1970s when she focused on thinking, willing, and judging. I argue that this change was driven by reactions to her report on Adolf Eichmann's 1961 trial in Eichmann in Jerusalem (1963).

Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of new series of Fe (II) complexes of 5-fluoro-2-hydroxy derived Schiff bases: Antibacterial, antioxidant, and computational study

open access: yesNext Materials
In this research, a novel series of iron (II) complexes was synthesized using Schiff base ligands, which were created from the reaction between 5-fluoro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and a variety of natural amino acids, including L-glutamine, L-tryptophan, L ...

Why Are Physics‐Based Models Taking so Long to Run?

open access: yesPerspectives of Earth and Space Scientists, Volume 7, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Physics‐based models provide a reliable and interpretable framework based on established physical laws, allowing them to deal with unforeseen future conditions much better than statistical data‐driven methods. Physics‐based models in Earth science (e.g., climate models, hydrological models, and groundwater models) are commonly used for ...
