Gluon Polarization in Longitudinally Polarized $pp$ Collisions at STAR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The STAR Collaboration is performing a wide range of measurements to determine the gluon helicity distribution in the proton. Gluon-gluon and quark-gluon scattering dominate jet production in proton-proton collisions at RHIC, so the longitudinal double-spin asymmetry, $A_{LL}$, for jet production places significant constraints on the gluon polarization

Measurements of the $Z^{0}/γ^{*}$ cross section and transverse single spin asymmetry in 510 GeV $p$$+$$p$ collisions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The differential cross section for $Z^{0}$ production, measured as a function of the boson's transverse momentum ($p_{\mathrm{T}}$), provides important constraints on the evolution of the transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs).

Effect of Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria on Salicornia ramosissima Seed Germination under Salinity, CO2 and Temperature Stress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In a scenario of climate change and growing population, halophyte root microbiota interactions may be a sustainable solution to improve alternative crop production while combating abiotic stress.

Regulating Protein Immobilization During Cell‐Free Protein Synthesis in Hyaluronan Microgels

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Bifunctional microgels carrying a linear DNA template and Ni2+‐activated NTA moieties are used as platform for cell‐free protein synthesis and in situ protein immobilization. By varying the concentration of NTA moieties in the microgels, the amount of GFP‐His immobilized inside the microgel and released to the microgel environment can be regulated ...

Ultra‐Shallow Flat Heat Waves on Low Thermal Conductivity Flexible Polyimide Substrate for Millisecond Thermal Analysis of Materials and Bioelectronic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An electronic system is presented consisting of a silver thin‐film electrode on a polyimide substrate working both as a heating element and a resistive temperature sensor, generating millisecond heat pulses with very fast heating and cooling rates and a flat peak temperature with a tunable duration.

Super Formula for Soluble C-Type Lectin-Like Receptor 2 × D-Dimer in Patients With Acute Cerebral Infarction

open access: yesClinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis
Acute cerebral infarction (ACI) includes atherosclerotic and cardiogenic ACI and involves a thrombotic state, requiring antithrombotic treatment. However, the thrombotic state in ACI cannot be evaluated using routine hemostatic examinations.

Tensorial Spin-s Harmonics [PDF]

open access: yesClass.Quant.Grav. 23 (2006) 497-510, 2005
We show how to define and go from the spin-s spherical harmonics to the tensorial spin-s harmonics. These quantities, which are functions on the sphere taking values as Euclidean tensors, turn out to be extremely useful for many calculations in General Relativity.

Modelling Learning as Modelling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Economists tend to represent learning as a procedure for estimating the parameters of the "correct" econometric model. We extend this approach by assuming that agents specify as well as estimate models.
