Mechanisms of De‐icing by Surface Rayleigh and Plate Lamb Acoustic Waves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ice accretion impacts daily life, renewable energy generation, maintenance, and security in industries and aeronautics. Acoustic waves (AW) are a promising method for ice removal, although de‐icing mechanisms require further investigation to optimize energy efficiency.

Cosmological perturbations in FRW model with scalar field within Hamilton-Jacobi formalism and symplectic projector method [PDF]

open access: yesCentralEur.J.Phys.4:503-510,2006, 2006
The Hamilton-Jacobi analysis is applied to the dynamics of the scalar fluctuations about the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW). The gauge conditions are found from the consistency conditions. The physical degrees of freedom of the model are obtain by symplectic projector method.

Teaching and Professional Fellowship Report 2006/7 : The Vakhtangov Technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Exploring a more sophisticated, coherent delivery of the Vakhtangov technique within the Drama Centre curriculum. The Vakhtangov system is centred on emotional memory and naturalistic modes of acting known as 'fantastic realism', in radical contrast to ...

Comment on ''Phase Diagram of La$_{2-x}$Sr$_x$CuO$_4$ Probed in the Infrared: Imprints of Charge Stripe Excitations''

open access: yes, 2003
Recently Lucarelli {\it et al.} have reported\cite{lucarelli} temperature-dependence of the in-plane optical reflectivity of La$_{2-x}$Sr$_x$CuO$_4$ over a wide doping range, focusing on the infrared peaks at 30 cm$^{-1}$ (for $x$=0.12), 250 cm$^{-1 ...

Advances in Hybrid Icing and Frosting Protection Strategies for Optics, Lens, and Photonics in Cold Environments Using Thin‐Film Acoustic Waves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article provides a comprehensive overview of fundamentals and recent advances of transparent thin‐film surface acoustic wave technologies on glass substrates for monitoring and prevention/elimination of fog, ice, and frost. Fogging, icing, or frosting on optical lenses, optics/photonics, windshields, vehicle/airplane windows, and solar panel ...

Decoupling Economic Growth from Fossil Fuel Use—Evidence from 141 Countries in the 25-Year Perspective

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
This study offers an in-depth analysis of the decoupling of economic growth from fossil fuel use in 141 countries over the last 25 years. The study is based on the Tapio decoupling approach, and two methods of measuring fossil fuel use, i.e., domestic ...

MicroRNA-510 mediated negative regulation of Caveolin-1 in fibroblasts promotes aggressive tumor growth

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
IntroductionIn the US, despite the recent decline in breast cancer deaths, a persistent mortality disparity exists between black and white women with breast cancer, with black women having a 41% higher death rate.

Baryon-Baryon Potentials on the Lattice [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Lett. B318 (1993) 507-510, 1993
The interaction of spatially extended heavy baryons is investigated in the framework of lattice QCD with dynamical quarks. It is shown that the expected dipole forces have a very short range and that the baryon-antibaryon interaction is more attractive than the baryon-baryon interaction. Sea quarks play a minor important role.
