Effects of CP-Violation in Neutralino Scattering and Annihilation [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.Proc.Suppl. 87 (2000) 519-520, 2000
We summarize our paper hep-ph/9908390, where we find that in some regions of supersymmetric parameter space, CP violating effects that mix the CP-even and CP-odd Higgs bosons can enhance the neutralino annihilation rate by factors of 10^6, and reduce the neutralino scattering rate off nucleons by factors of 10^{-7}.

Multi‐institutional study on image quality for a novel CBCT solution on O‐ring linac

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction This work presents a multi‐institutional study on image quality provided by a novel cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). The main goal is to investigate the consistency of imaging performance across multiple institutions.

Self-healing of optical functions by molecular metabolism in a swollen elastomer

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
Optical functions of organic dyes, e.g., fluorescence or photochromism, tend to degrade by light irradiation, which causes a short lifetime of photonic devices.

Electrons, New Physics, and the Future of Parity-Violation [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conf.Proc.520:313-328,2000, 2000
The study of parity-violation in semi-leptonic processes has yielded important insights into the structure of the Standard Model and the substructure of the nucleon. I discuss the future of semi-leptonic parity-violation and the role it might play in uncovering physics beyond the Standard Model.

Elucidating the Supramolecular Interaction of Positively Supercharged Fluorescent Protein with Anionic Phthalocyanines

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Positively supercharged mGreenLatern protein is self‐assembled electrostatically with negatively charged zinc phthalocyanines to yield bio‐based photoactive materials in aqueous media. The addition of phthalocyanines results in the formation of large complexes fully quenching of the protein fluorescence. The results indicate an energy transfer from the

Nitrogen fertilization in the growth phase of 'Chardonnay' and 'Pinot Noir' vines and nitrogen forms in sandy soil of the Pampa Biome

open access: yesRevista Ceres
Information on nitrogen fertilization in growing vines is still a very limited subject, especially for crops on sandy soils in the Pampa Biome in Rio Grande do Sul, where viticulture has expanded considerably in the last decade.

Sparse Bayesian mass-mapping with uncertainties: hypothesis testing of structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A crucial aspect of mass-mapping, via weak lensing, is quantification of the uncertainty introduced during the reconstruction process. Properly accounting for these errors has been largely ignored to date. We present a new method to reconstruct maximum a posteriori (MAP) convergence maps by formulating an unconstrained Bayesian inference problem with ...

Effective Field Theory and $χ$pt [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conf.Proc.520:271-285,2000, 2000
A brief introduction to the subject of chiral perturbation theory ($\chi$pt) is given, including a discussion of effective field theory and application to the upcoming Bates virtual Compton scattering measurement.

Spatiotemporal Control Over Protein Release from Artificial Cells via a Light‐Activatable Protease

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Stimulus‐responsive protein release is essential for intercellular communication. Mimicking this functionality in artificial cells is promising to study the working principles of cellular signaling. Herein, an engineered light‐activatable protease is implemented in a coacervate‐based artificial cell platform to establish user‐defined spatiotemporal ...

Exact solution of $Z_n$ Belavin model with open boundary condition [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.B679:495-520,2004, 2003
$Z_n$ Belavin model with open boundary condition is studied. The double-row transfer matrices of the model are diagonalized by algebraic Bethe ansatz method in terms of the intertwiner and the face-vertex correspondence relation. The eigenvalues and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations are obtained.
