The Nepticulidae of Malta (Lepidoptera) [PDF]
Three species of Nepticulidae are recorded for the fi rst time from the Maltese Islands. Acalyptris minimella, Ectoedemia euphorbiella, and Parafomoria pseudocistivora are added to the previously recorded Stigmella aurella.

Preparation, dielectric and conductivity studies of LiNi1-xMgxO2 cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries [PDF]
A layered structure cathode materials LiNi1-xMgxO2 (where x = 0.0 and 0.02) were prepared by solid state reaction from Li2CO3, MgO and NiO. The thermal analysis of the precursor materials up to 750 °C showed the weight loss of about 30%.

Some Thoughts on Terminology and Discipline in Design [PDF]
In this speculative paper, I will argue that the design community should attempt to develop a “dictionary” of the language of design, along the same lines as the Oxford English Dictionary was and is developed: as a catalogue of the living use of terms ...

Quantifying Aspect Bias in Ordinal Ratings using a Bayesian Approach [PDF]
User opinions expressed in the form of ratings can influence an individual's view of an item. However, the true quality of an item is often obfuscated by user biases, and it is not obvious from the observed ratings the importance different users place on

Application of Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to MgO‐C Refractories
Visible to near infrared luminescence of MgO is studied on MgO‐C bricks and nominally pure MgO powder, with focus on two similar sharp high‐intensity signals, at 699 and 871 nm, each surrounded by symmetrical sidebands. The nature of these sidebands is investigated by temperature‐dependent spectroscopic measurements, confirming phonon involvement by ...

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.
