Low temperature fluid blender [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
Blender supplies hydrogen at temperatures from 289 deg K to 367 deg K. Hydrogen temperature is controlled by using blender to combine flow from liquid hydrogen tank /276 deg K/ and gaseous hydrogen cylinder /550 deg K/. Blenders are applicable where flow

Landau damping of partially incoherent Langmuir waves

open access: yes, 2002
It is shown that partial incoherence, in the form of stochastic phase noise, of a Langmuir wave in an unmagnetized plasma gives rise to a Landau-type damping. Starting from the Zakharov equations, which describe the nonlinear interaction between Langmuir

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

The helicity amplitudes A$_{1/2}$ and A$_{3/2}$ for the D$_{13}(1520)$ resonance obtained from the $\vec{\gamma} \vec{p} \to p \pi^0$ reaction} [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The helicity dependence of the $\vec{\gamma} \vec{p} \to p \pi^0$ reaction has been measured for the first time in the photon energy range from 550 to 790 MeV.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Deciphering the enigmatic PilY1 of Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans: An in silico analysis

open access: yesBiochemistry and Biophysics Reports
Thirty years since the first report on the PilY1 protein in bacteria, only the C-terminal domain has been crystallized; there is no study in which the N-terminal domain, let alone the complete protein, has been crystallized.
