Plasma separation from whole blood is a necessary part of biomarker detection. Using conventional centrifugation undermines the goals of point‐of‐care devices and more automated biomarker analysis workflow. In this work, a high‐throughput hydrodynamic‐based microfluidic platform that separates plasma with admissible purity and yield is developed ...

A new dual‐layer hydrogel barrier for preventing postoperative abdominal adhesions is developed. The inner layer, consisting of polyethyleneimine (PEI) and thioctic acid (TA), enhanced adhesion to moist tissues. The outer layer combines zwitterionic, thermoresponsive hyaluronic acid with anti‐inflammatory epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and forms a ...

The study investigates the effects of nanoplastics on human immune cells using palladium‐doped polystyrene nanoplastics and mass cytometry. It reveals that nanoplastics accumulate in various immune cell subpopulations, reducing cell viability and impairing function. In vivo experiments in mice confirm their accumulation in several immune cells.

State‐of‐the‐Art, Insights, and Perspectives for MOFs‐Nanocomposites and MOF‐Derived (Nano)Materials
Different approaches to MOF‐NP composite formation, such as ship‐in‐a‐bottle, bottle‐around‐the‐ship and in situ one‐step synthesis, are used. Owing to synergistic effects, the advantageous features of the components of the composites are beneficially combined, and their individual drawbacks are mitigated.
