Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Energy transfer within phycocyanin trimers of Mastigocladus laminosus studied by picosecond time-resolved transient absorption spectroscopy [PDF]
The transient absorption recovery induced in phycocyanin trimers by picosecond pulses of variable wavelength (570 — 620 nm) has been recorded and analyzed by applying a least-squares multi-exponential fit procedure.

This work reports the self‐assembly of a pyrene derivative into two distinct nanostructures and their application in visible‐light photocatalysis. The two nanostructures exhibit completely different yet complementary photocatalytic activities, promoting either H2 or H2O2 evolution.

The NNR‐n series of oligomeric nanographenes delivers exceptional emission performance. This work shows that this performance is originated by their ladder‐type structure, which effectively deactivates low‐frequency vibronic modes. This deactivation neglects the main pathway for non‐emissive deactivation, even in the near‐infrared region. The potential

Amphora Painted by Lydos in Empuries and the Beginning of the Emporion Settlement on Land [PDF]

The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Kinetics of silicide formation by thin films of V on Si and SiO_2 substrates [PDF]
The reaction rate of vacuum‐evaporated films of V of the order of 1000 Å thick is investigated by MeV He backscattering spectrometry. On substrates of single‐crystal Si and for anneal times up to several hours in the temperature range 570–650°C, VSi_2 is
