Microprotein MP104 Promotes Malignant Progression of Colorectal Cancer Through Regulating Protein Translation

A previously unrecognized microprotein, MP104, encoded by ZEB1‐AS1, emerges as a critical driver of colorectal cancer progression. MP104 links ubiquitin‐mediated protein degradation with translational reprogramming via the UBE2O–AMPKα2–mTOR–EIF4B axis, revealing an unrecognized layer of oncogenic regulation.

PLAG1 regulates early neurobehavioural development in zebrafish. Reducing plag1 alters craniofacial patterning, increases thigmotaxis and changes responses to light and acoustic stimuli, while gross brain structure and motor neuron development remain largely intact.

Sleeve Gastrectomy Improves Metabolic Health, Cognition, and Alzheimer's Disease Pathology in 3xTG Mice

Through a single metabolic intervention, Sleeve Gastrectomy improves metabolic health and attenuates Alzheimer's pathology in 3xTg‐AD mice across dietary contexts. It reduces cortical amyloid and neuroinflammation via region‐specific brain insulin–autophagy signaling and rescues memory under Western‐diet stress, independent of caloric intake.
