Polarimetry of 600 pulsars from observations at 1.4 GHz with the Parkes radio telescope [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Over the past 13 years, the Parkes radio telescope has observed a large number of pulsars using digital filterbank backends with high time and frequency resolution and the capability for Stokes recording. Here we use archival data to present polarimetry data at an observing frequency of 1.4 GHz for 600 pulsars with spin-periods ranging from 0.036 to 8 ...

Lightest Scalar Resonances and the Dynamics of the γγ\toππ Reactions [PDF]

open access: yesJETP Lett.88:295-301,2008; Pisma Zh.Eksp.Teor.Fiz.88:345-350,2008, 2008
The high-statistics Belle data on the \gamma\gamma\to\pi^+\pi^- and \gamma\gamma\to\pi^0\pi^0 reactions have been jointly analyzed. The main dynamical mechanisms of these reactions for energies below 1.5 GeV have been revealed. It has been shown that the direct coupling constants of the \sigma(600) and f_0(980) resonances with a \gamma\gamma pair are ...

Brucella NyxA and NyxB dimerization enhances effector function during infection

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Brucella abortus thrives inside cells thanks to the translocation of effector proteins that fine‐tune cellular functions. NyxA and NyxB are two effectors that destabilize the nucleolar localization of their host target, SENP3. We show that the Nyx proteins directly interact with each other and that their dimerization is essential for their function ...

Infección experimental por herpesvirus bovino 1 en conejas gestantes

open access: yesAnalecta Veterinaria, 2011
La infección natural por Herpesvirus bovino 1 (BoHV-1) se manifiesta por conjuntivitis, signos respiratorios (rinotraqueitis), lesiones genitales (vulvovaginitis pustular infecciosa o balanopostitis) y abortos.

In vivo evidence for glycyl radical insertion into a catalytically inactive variant of pyruvate formate‐lyase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Dimeric pyruvate formate‐lyase cleaves pyruvate using a radical‐based mechanism. G734 serves as a radical storage location, and the radical is transferred to the catalytic C419 residue. Mutation of the C418‐C419 pair causes loss of enzyme activity, but does not impede radical introduction onto G734. Therefore, cis‐ but not trans‐radical transfer occurs

Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.

Combined spatially resolved metabolomics and spatial transcriptomics reveal the mechanism of RACK1‐mediated fatty acid synthesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors analyzed the spatial distributions of gene and metabolite profiles in cervical cancer through spatial transcriptomic and spatially resolved metabolomic techniques. Pivotal genes and metabolites within these cases were then identified and validated.

Respiratory complex I‐mediated NAD+ regeneration regulates cancer cell proliferation through the transcriptional and translational control of p21Cip1 expression by SIRT3 and SIRT7

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

Estudio sobre la enfermedad de Tyzzer (Clostridium piliforme) en diferentes cepas de ratas y ratones de laboratorio infectadas experimentalmente

open access: yesAnalecta Veterinaria, 2010
Los animales de laboratorio, como reactivos biológicos vivos, deben ser estandarizados genética y microbiológicamente, para que los resultados de las experiencias sean confiables, reproducibles y comparables.
