Tropicalization and tropical equilibration of chemical reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Systems biology uses large networks of biochemical reactions to model the functioning of biological cells from the molecular to the cellular scale. The dynamics of dissipative reaction networks with many well separated time scales can be described as a ...

Discovery of SKP2‐Recruiting PROTACs for Target Protein Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the SKP2‐targeting ligand SL1, we designed non‐covalent PROTACs by linking it with the BRD4 inhibitor JQ1 and the AR antagonist AL through a linker. These PROTACs successfully induced the ubiquitination of BRD4 and AR, followed by proteasome‐mediated degradation.

Motivational interviewing and urine cotinine feedback to stop passive smoke exposure in children predisposed to asthma: a randomised controlled trial

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
We tested the effectiveness of a program consisting of motivational interviewing (MI) and feedback of urine cotinine to stop passive smoking (PS) in children at risk for asthma. Fifty-eight families with children 0–13 years with a high risk of asthma and

Multi-Frame Labeled Faces Database: Towards Face Super-Resolution from Realistic Video Sequences

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Forensically trained facial reviewers are still considered as one of the most accurate approaches for person identification from video records. The human brain can utilize information, not just from a single image, but also from a sequence of images (i.e.

Targeted Extracellular Vesicles Deliver Asiaticoside to Inhibit AURKB/DRP1‐Mediated Mitochondrial Fission and Attenuate Hypertrophic Scar Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypertrophic scar formation is driven by excessive mitochondrial fission in wound macrophages, which we discover is governed by a novel AURKB‐DRP1(Ser616) axis. The study develops a targeted therapy using cRGD‐decorated extracellular vesicles to deliver the natural compound Asiaticoside specifically to macrophages.

In‐Operando FTIR Study to Investigate the Effect of Varying Lithium Salts on Solid Electrolyte Interface (SEI) Evolution in Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A clear correlation between electrolyte salt chemistry and Solid Electrolyte Interface (SEI) performance in lithium metal batteries is established using in operando FTIR spectroscopy. This study shows that LiTFSI instantaneously forms a robust, inorganic organic hybrid SEI (LiF, Li3N, Li2O, ROCO2Li, ROLi) that minimizes overpotential, while less ...

Evaporation from water surfaces in urban environments, using Prague and Pilsen (Czech Republic) as examples

open access: yesEnvironmental & Socio-economic Studies, 2016
The subject of this study is an evaluation of the amount of evaporation from water surfaces (VVH), measured using EWM devices in two cities of different sizes, and located approximately 80 km from each other – Prague and Pilsen. The results were analyzed
