Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Studies on Drought Tolerant and High Yielding Groundnut Varieties in Perambalur District

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bio-Resource and Stress Management, 2021
Three varieties of groundnut were used to assess the drought tolerance and high yielding potential. Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important oil seed crop mainly grown under rainfed situation. Erratic rainfall and frequent drought during the crop

Characterisation of Streptococcus suis Isolates in the Czech Republic Collected from Diseased Pigs in the Years 2018–2022

open access: yesPathogens, 2022
As in other countries, in the Czech Republic, Streptococcus suis infection in pigs is considered an economically significant disease for the pig industry, though little is known about its population structure. We collected S. suis isolates from 144 farms

Transport properties in bilayer Quantum Hall systems in the presence of a topological defect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Following a suggestion given in Phys. Lett. B 571(2003) 621, we show how a bilayer Quantum Hall system at fillings nu =1/p+1 can exhibit a point-like topological defect in its edge state structure.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Absolute frequency measurement of the 7s$^2$ $^1$S$_0$ $-$ 7s7p $^{1}$P$_1$ transition in $^{225}$Ra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Transition frequencies were determined for transitions in Ra in an atomic beam and for reference lines in Te$_2$ molecules in a vapor cell. The absolute frequencies were calibrated against a GPS stabilized Rb-clock by means of an optical frequency comb ...

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

The AMPK inhibitor overcomes the paradoxical effect of RAF inhibitors through blocking phospho–Ser-621 in the C terminus of CRAF

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2018
The dimerization-driven paradoxical activation of RAF proto-oncogene Ser/Thr kinase (RAF) is the predominant cause of drug resistance and toxicity in cancer therapies with RAF inhibitors. The scaffold protein 14-3-3, which binds to the RAF C terminus, is

Managing and supporting language learners in open and distance learning environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This chapter explores the nature of support for the language learner within the context of open and distance learning. It argues that, in order to be in a position to advise and support appropriately and effectively, it is necessary to address the many
