Microscopic Study on Excitation and Emission Enhancement by the Plasmon Mode on a Plasmonic Chip

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Excitation and emission enhancement by using the plasmon mode formed on a plasmonic chip was studied with a microscope and micro-spectroscope. Surface plasmon resonance wavelengths were observed on one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) plasmonic ...

Efficient numerical simulation of granular matter using the Bottom-To-Top Reconstruction method

open access: yes, 2006
The numerical simulation of granular systems of even moderate size is a challenging computational problem. In most investigations, either Molecular Dynamics or Event-driven Molecular Dynamics is applied.

Shearer's inequality and Infimum Rule for Shannon entropy and topological entropy

open access: yes, 2015
We review subbadditivity properties of Shannon entropy, in particular, from the Shearer's inequality we derive the "infimum rule" for actions of amenable groups. We briefly discuss applicability of the "infimum formula" to actions of other groups.

Single‐cell level characterization of B cell depletion and repopulation following rituximab in systemic lupus erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Rituximab, a CD20+ B cell depletion therapy, is frequently used to treat systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, variability in patient response highlights the need for a deeper understanding of the underlying immune cell dynamics of B cell depletion and repopulation.

Low‐dose cannabidiol increases plasma concentrations of amitriptyline: A clinical drug–drug interaction study

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Cannabidiol (CBD), the main non‐intoxicating compound from the cannabis plant, is regularly used by patients with chronic pain who also take analgesics. CBD has previously been shown to inhibit CYP‐mediated drug metabolism. This study aimed to characterize the potential pharmacokinetic interaction of CBD with amitriptyline and tramadol ...

Does Climate Risk Affect Employment Decisions? International Evidence

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the effect of climate risk on corporate employment decisions. Using a large sample from 41 countries, we find a positive association between climate risk and underinvestment in labor, notably manifesting as excessive employee layoffs.
