Single GAF Domain Phytochrome Exhibits a pH‐Dependent Shunt on the Millisecond Timescale

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
During their light‐induced photocycle, phytochromes can engage in a thermal reversion back to the initially excited state, denoted as a shunt. This study investigates a pH‐dependent shunt transition in the Pfr state of the All2699g1 phytochrome from Nostoc punctiforme using UV/Vis laser flash photolysis and kinetic modeling. The findings suggest a keto‐

Temperature Tunable Optical Properties of Tetraheptylaluminum(III) Porphyrin Toward Molecular Thermometer

open access: yesChemPhysChem, EarlyView.
An amphiphilic aluminum(III) porphyrin (AlC7P) has been developed, and its temperature‐dependant aggregation‐induced photophysical properties have been investigated. The observed photophysical changes due to the aggregation in haxanes make AlC7P a suitable candidate for a luminescent molecular thermometer.

Controlling Lampenflora in Heritage Sites: In Situ Testing of Polyoxometalate–Ionic Liquids in the Pommery Champagne Cellar

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
The article evaluates polyoxometalate–ionic liquids (POM–ILs) as biocidal agents against lampenflora in the UNESCO‐listed Pommery Champagne cellar. POM–ILs effectively inhibit microbial colonization over one year with minimal visual impact and outperform the commercial biocide Preventol RI80.

Trifluoroacetylated Trimethine, Pentamethine, and Heptamethine Cyanine Dyes: Syntheses, Structures, and Photochemical Properties

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
Herein, the rapid, concise, and straightforward synthesis of trifluoroacetylated trimethine, pentamethine, and heptamethine cyanine dyes is reported via the direct trifluoroacetylation of trimethine, pentamethine, and heptamethine cyanine dyes using commercially available trifluoroacetic anhydride.

Iron and Nickel Substituted Perovskite Cobaltites for Sustainable Oxygen Evolving Anodes in Alkaline Environment

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Perovskite oxide catalysts with reduced Co content, substituted by Fe and Ni, are synthesized and studied for their activity in the oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline media. An increase in the intrinsic catalytic activity (obtained by the (RctCdl)−1 product) of the base material (Ba0.5Gd0.8La0.7Co2O6‐δ) is seen for an as high as 70 % substitution of

The Prevalence of Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating in Adults Seeking Obesity Treatment: A Systematic Review With Meta‐Analyses

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To estimate the prevalence of eating disorders and disordered eating in adults seeking obesity treatment. Method Databases, MEDLINE, Embase, and PsycINFO, were searched to 20th March 2025. Studies reporting the prevalence of eating disorders or disordered eating at presentation to obesity treatment in adults (≥ 18 years) with ...
