Creep fatigue of low-cobalt superalloys: Waspalloy, PM U 700 and wrought U 700 [PDF]

open access: yes
The influence of cobalt content on the high temperature creep fatigue crack initiation resistance of three primary alloys was evaluated. These were Waspalloy, Powder U 700, and Cast U 700, with cobalt contents ranging from 0 up to 17 percent.

Use of a Molecular Signature Response Classifier to Inform Treatment Selection Improves Clinical Disease Activity Among Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis Initiating a Biologic or Targeted Synthetic Disease‐Modifying Antirheumatic Drug

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We assessed the effectiveness of PrismRA to improve clinical outcomes among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) initiating treatment with a biologic or targeted synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drug (b/tsDMARD). Methods PrismRA incorporated 19 gene expression features and four clinical features to assess a patient's likelihood of

Bayesian Joint Inversion of Gravity and Vertical Gravity Gradients Enabled by Quantum Gravimetry: Application to the Lisbon FIQUgS Survey [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
This work introduces a Bayesian approach for the joint inversion of gravity and vertical gravity gradient data, designed to exploit the capabilities of the new quantum gravimeters developed in the FIQUgS Horizon Europe project.

Building Sparse Deep Feedforward Networks using Tree Receptive Fields

open access: yes, 2018
Sparse connectivity is an important factor behind the success of convolutional neural networks and recurrent neural networks. In this paper, we consider the problem of learning sparse connectivity for feedforward neural networks (FNNs).

Structural characterization of the scale formed on a Ti–46Al–8Nb alloy oxidised in air at 700 C [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The structures of the oxide scale formed on a lamellar (gþ a2) Ti46Al8Nb alloy after heat-treatment in air at 700 C for 50 and 1000 h have been compared.

Associations of Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity with Frailty Over Five Years of Follow‐up

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective To evaluate whether rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity is associated with frailty both in cross‐section and longitudinally. Methods Participants within the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis registry enrolled from 2003 to 2022 were included. The exposure was RA disease activity measured by Disease Activity Score in 28‐joints (DAS28)

Cracking the Code: Which Ocular Symptoms Predict Dry Eye Signs? Insights from a large international sicca registry

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Purpose The study aimed to identify symptom‐based predictors of dry eye disease (DED) signs in the Sjögrens International Collaborative Clinical Alliance (SICCA) cohort. Methods Retrospective analysis examining 16 ocular symptoms (most graded 0‐4) and artificial tear (AT) use (graded 0‐3) as predictors of DED signs [abnormal ocular surface staining ...
