Integrating Genetics With Epidemiological Measurements Identifies Burden QTLs of Inflammatory Bowel Disease across 20 Countries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The burden quantitative trait locus (bQTL) analysis integrates epidemiological data from GBD study with genotype of 2 621 978 SNPs from 2414 individuals in 1000 Genomes Project across 20 countries. rs7633471 shows the strongest effect that each increase in centi‐allele frequency of the allele C associated with 10.00 decrease of age‐standardized ...

Synthesis of a Key Intermediate, 10-Acetyl-7-(-butyldiphenylsilyloxymethyl)-4-methylbicyclo[5.3.0]dec-4-en-1-ol, in the Synthesis of Pseudolaric Acid A

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2013
10-Acetyl-7-( t -butyldiphenylsilyloxymethyl)-4-methylbicyclo[5.3.0]dec-4-en-1-ol was synthesized by aldol cyclization to a five-membered ring, epoxidation, samarium diiodide-induced ring opening, and the RCM reaction to the seven-membered carbocycle ...

Physics‐Aware Machine‐Learning‐Driven Inverse Design of Broadband Ultra‐Open Acoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐aware machine‐learning framework enables inverse design of ultra‐open acoustic silencers by decoupling spectral and radial design spaces. The approach rapidly identifies broadband, compact, and highly ventilated architectures, while revealing hidden linear design rules that link geometry, impedance matching, and acoustic performance.

Giant Direct Magnetoelectric Effect in Nanocomposite CoFe2O4:PVDF‐TrFE Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel three‐step grow‐etch‐fill fabrication approach creates structured cobalt ferrite/ferroelectric polymer nanocomposites with high interfacial areas. Driven by efficient strain‐mediated coupling, this crystalline system achieves a giant room‐temperature magnetoelectric coefficient nearly two orders of magnitude higher than other CFO/PVDF‐TrFE thin
