How to Implement Clinical 7T MRI—Practical Considerations and Experience with Ultra-High-Field MRI

open access: yesBioengineering
The implementation of clinical 7T MRI presents both opportunities and challenges for advanced medical imaging. This tutorial provides practical considerations and experiences with 7T MRI in clinical settings. We first explore the history and evolution of

A Dependable SRAM with 7T/14T Memory Cells

open access: yesIEICE Transactions on Electronics, 2009
SUMMARY This paper proposes a novel dependable SRAM with 7T/14T memory cells, and introduces a new concept, “quality of a bit (QoB)” for it. The proposed SRAM has three modes: a normal mode, highspeed mode, and dependable mode, and dynamically scales its reliability, power and speed by combining two memory cells for one-bit information (i.e. 14 T/bit).

Design of an 8‐Channel Transmit 32‐Channel Receive 11.7T Head Coil and Evaluation of SNR Gains

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To design and develop an 8‐channel transmit 32‐channel receive 11.7T head coil for the strongest human MRI scanner to date, demonstrate safety, and evaluate signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) gains compared to 7T, the most used ultra‐high‐field (UHF) platform.

Prospective Head Motion Correction in T1‐ and T2‐Weighted Long Echo Train Sequences Using Servo Navigation

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To integrate MR‐based servo navigation in MPRAGE and 3D‐TSE sequences and demonstrate its potential for prospective head motion correction in structural imaging. Methods Repeated modules of servo navigators were inserted before each preparation pulse of MPRAGE and 3D‐TSE sequences (before‐prep) for rapid convergence of motion parameter

Dual‐echo arteriovenography imaging with 7T MRI

open access: yes, 2010
Purpose: To implement a dual-echo sequence MRI technique at 7T for simultaneous acquisition of time-of-flight (TOF) MR angiogram (MRA) and blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) MR venogram (MRV) in a single MR acquisition and to compare the image ...

Quantifying Skin Sodium Concentration With Novel Very Rapid Biexponential T2 Relaxometry and Signal Loss Compensation Methodology

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To accurately measure skin tissue sodium concentration (TSC) through development of spin‐3/2 relaxometry methodology that also considers blood sodium. Methods Mxy generation during RF excitation is substantially reduced by very rapid T2f.

Ultra-high field (7T) magnetic resonance fingerprinting

open access: yes
Ultra-high field (7T+) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) improves image quality substantially compared to normal clinical 1.5T or 3T MRI. However, 7T MRI brings new challenges pertaining to B1+ inhomogeneity, B0 inhomogeneity, increased spectral bandwidth,

Wasteosomes accumulate in periventricular white matter hyperintensities and exhibit complex relationships with mixed pathology, sclerotic index, and perivascular space

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
In a mixed diagnostic cohort of pathologically diagnosed Alzheimer's disease, cerebrovascular disease, mixed pathology, and control tissue, we connected the histopathological wasteosome profile in periventricular (PV) brain sections to 7T FLAIR‐MRI confirmed PV white matter hyperintensities (WMHs), vascular stenosis and perivascular space size ...

The role of protein arginine methyltransferases in sickle cell‐mediated neurovascular impairments in mice

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary blood disorder caused by mutation of β‐globin. In SCD, haemoglobin polymerization causes red blood cells to assume a rigid sickle‐shape leading to neurovascular alterations, including development of vascular dementia – characterized by cognitive impairment and reduced cerebral perfusion ...
