Reverse Regioselective Dicarbofunctionalization via Anti‐Michael‐Type Addition

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A reverse regioselective dicarbofunctionalization of acrylamides via anti‐Michael‐type addition is reported. Various (hetero)arene nucleophiles and carbon electrophiles were incorporated in a manner opposite to conventional regioselectivity. A key feature of this reaction is the formation of an alkylpalladium intermediate, which enables the achievement

Word sense disambiguation criteria: a systematic study [PDF]

open access: yes20th International Conference on Computational Linguistics (COLING-2004) (2004) pp. 910-916, 2005
This article describes the results of a systematic in-depth study of the criteria used for word sense disambiguation. Our study is based on 60 target words: 20 nouns, 20 adjectives and 20 verbs. Our results are not always in line with some practices in the field.

Properties of Entanglement Monotones for Three-Qubit Pure States [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Various parameterizations for the orbits under local unitary transformations of three-qubit pure states are analyzed. The interconvertibility, symmetry properties, parameter ranges, calculability and behavior under measurement are looked at.

Impact of body mass index as a continuous variable on short‐ and long‐term outcomes in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery for colon cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Three‐year relapse‐free survival was possibly better in severe obese patients (BMI ≥28.5 kg/m2) who underwent laparoscopic surgery for colon cancer. It suggests that the prognosis of highly obese colorectal cancer patients follow the obesity paradox. Abstract Background The impact of obesity on colon cancer remains unclear.

Constructing Large‐Area Oriented Covalent Organic Framework Based PN Heterostructure Films to Enhance Artificial Photosynthesis of H2O2

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We propose for the first time the concept of organic‐inorganic hybrid oriented PN heterostructured films to modulate the photocatalytic performance by constructing COF‐based PN heterostructured films, and our mechanistic studies confirm that oriented TAPB‐DMTA COFs based on thin films of PN heterostructures can provide the driving force to enhance the ...

Polyglactin 910 versus irradiated polyglactin 910 for subcuticular closure in elective surgeries: a randomized double-blind study

open access: yesInternational Surgery Journal, 2020
Background: All suture materials are treated as foreign bodies and bring out a reaction in the tissues. The severity and duration of response depends on the type of suture material used. The choice of suture material is based on the concept that it should provide adequate tensile strength across the wound until tissue tensile strength has adequately ...

A Smart Visualized Phototherapy Switch: From NIR‐I Imaging‐Guided Photodynamic Therapy to NIR‐II‐Guided Photothermal Therapy for Enhanced Cascade Tumor Photoablation

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
A visualized intelligent light‐triggered phototherapy conversion: from near‐infrared (NIR)‐I fluorescence imaging‐guided photodynamic therapy to NIR‐II fluorescence imaging‐guided photothermal therapy for cascade tumor photoablation. This phototherapeutic modality conversion is achieved by light‐triggered dissociation of nitric oxide of the ...

Pseudofree Z/3-actions on K3 surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesProc. Amer. Math. Soc. 135 (2007), no. 3, 903--910, 2006
In this paper, we give a weak classification of locally linear pseudofree actions of the cyclic group of order 3 on a $K3$ surface, and prove the existence of such an action which can not be realized as a smooth action on the standard smooth $K3$ surface.

Arsenite stress down-regulates phosphorylation and 14-3-3 binding of leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2), promoting self-association and cellular redistribution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Mutations in the gene encoding leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) are a common genetic cause of Parkinson disease, but the mechanisms whereby LRRK2 is regulated are unknown. Phosphorylation of LRRK2 at Ser(910)/Ser(935) mediates interaction with 14-3-3.
