Chronolog(Z): linear-time logic programming
Proceedings of ICCI'93: 5th International Conference on Computing and Information, 2002This paper introduces Chronolog(Z), a logic programming language based on a discrete linear-time temporal logic with unbounded past and future. Chronolog(Z) is suitable for applications involving the notion of dynamic change such as modeling non-terminating computations, the simulation of sequential circuits, and temporal databases.

Chronological Time Versus Physiological Time
1998If one were to ask a number of people what physiological rhythm they most closely associate with the passage of time, most would probably choose the heart rate. We are consciously aware of this pacemaker in quiet moments just prior to sleep, and we become acutely aware of it during exertion or when frightened or angry.

Outlawing Time Machines: Chronology Protection Theorems
Erkenntnis, 1995At the outset I want to distinguish between two questions which are often run together: (1) Is time travel possible? and (2) Is it possible to operate a time machine? Each question can be treated in various contexts. The context I will explore here is provided by the classical form of the general theory of relativity (GTR), although towards the end I ...

Conceptions of Time and the Development of Paleolithic Chronology
American Anthropologist, 1995Until recently the reflexive archaeological literature on concepts of time has been sparse. As a result, chronologies have been treated as a conceptual black box, tools about which nothing need be known except their input and output. Recent theoretical discussions have begun to pry open the lid of this black box, revealing the complexities that lie ...
