This study analyzes the thermal and mechanical behavior of activated tungsten inert gas welding on 4 mm‐thick Grade 91 steel, widely used in high‐temperature applications. Using a combined heat source model, the research predicts weld distortion and residual stress, validated through experiments.

Several methods to measure the critical chloride content Ccrit of steel in concrete are compared on the basis of 12% chromium steel and carbon steel. The resulting Ccrit depends on the method used. The reasons for this and the corresponding influencing parameters are discussed in this article.
