Treating postextubation dysphagia after stroke with pharyngeal electrical stimulation –insights from a randomized controlled pilot trial

open access: yesNeurotherapeutics
Postextubation dysphagia is a major risk factor for extubation failure in acute stroke. Pharyngeal electrical stimulation (PES) is a novel neurostimulation technique for neurogenic dysphagia rehabilitation.

FastNano Liquid: An Automated Platform for Small‐Angle X‐ray Scattering‐Based Materials Discovery

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present FastNano Liquid, an automated small‐ and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering platform for the combined synthesis and characterization of (nano)materials. The platform is coupled to varied reactor workflows for both in situ studies of reaction kinetics and ex situ screening of synthesis conditions to support machine learning‐guided exploration ...

Thoracic MRI in Pediatric Oncology: Feasibility and Image Quality of Post-Contrast Free-Breathing Radial 3D T1 Weighted Imaging

open access: yesBiomedicines
Objectives: To compare the feasibility and image quality of a post-contrast free-breathing radial stack-of-stars 3D T1w turbo-field echo Dixon sequence (3D T1w VANE mDIXON) with a conventional cartesian breath-hold 3D T1w fast-field echo mDIXON sequence ...

Robust Electrocaloric Performance Enabled by Highly‐Polar Frustrated Nanodomains in NaNbO3‐Based Ferrodistortive Relaxor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
P4bm framework in NaNbO3‐Ba(Ti, Hf)O3 ferrodistortive relaxor entails short‐range and highly‐polar ferrodistortive orders. The abundant highly‐polar orders facilitate to increase entropy change, and robust octahedral oxygen tilt enables to impede thermal perturbations.

Annexin A1 expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yes, 2010

Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

Bio‐Derived Polyelectrolyte Additive–Induced Interfacial Ion‐Diffusion Barriers for Nonvolatile Organic Artificial Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sodium alginate regulates interfacial ion transport and retention in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. The carboxylate‐rich polymeric network forms a dynamic interfacial ion‐diffusion barrier that facilitates ion injection during programming while suppressing ion back‐diffusion, thereby stabilizing the electrochemically doped channel state.
