A Michaelis-Arbuzov-Type Pathway to a Protected 2'-Deoxy-2'-Selenomethyl-Adenosine-3',5'-Phosphoroselenolate Guanosine Dinucleotide for Use in Modified m7G Cap Synthesis. [PDF]
Here we report a synthesis of the dinucleotide 4 for a projected future total synthesis of the m7G cap 1. Highlights of the route include: 1) a 3ʹ‐H‐phosphonate/5ʹ‐selenocyanate Michaelis‐Arbuzov coupling to forge the 3ʹ,5ʹ‐phosphoroselenolate; 2) an Amosova reductive selenomethylation to install the 2ʹ‐SeMe; 3) a solid CPR II 5ʹ‐O‐phosphitylation; and

Self-Assembly of a Customizable Library of Nickel Trifluoromethylation Catalysts via Selective C─F and C─O Bond Cleavage. [PDF]
Carbatranes and anionic pincer ligands were self‐assembled via one‐pot C─F or C─O bond cleavage and the formation of C─O, C─N, or C─C bonds, forming ligand architectures inaccessible by common synthetic methods. This approach allowed to build a customizable library of nickel catalysts for light‐induced C─H bond trifluoromethylation.

1,2,3-Triazoles as leaving groups in SNAr–Arbuzov reactions: synthesis of C6-phosphonated purine derivatives [PDF]
A new method for C–N bond transformations into C–P bonds was developed using 1,2,3-triazoles as leaving groups in SNAr–Arbuzov reactions. A series of C6-phosphonated 2-triazolylpurine derivatives was synthesized for the first time, with the isolated yields reaching up to 82% in the C–P-bond-forming event.

FACILITATION OF CHORUS ROLE IN A. N. ARBUZOV’S PARABLE “THE HAPPY DAYS OF AN UNHAPPY MAN” [PDF]
The article is devoted to the analysis of the facilitated image of the chorus and its functions in the parable “The Happy Days of an Unhappy Man”, which was written by the Soviet playwright A. N. Arbuzov in 1967. It is proved that in the play the playwright simplifies the role of the chorus, facilitates its presence on the stage.

The esterification of phosphinic, phosphonic, and phosphoric acids is not possible due the high enthalpy of activation. However, the barrier may be overcome under MW irradiation to give phosphinates, phosphonates, and alkoxyphosphoric acids, respectively. In the latter cases, the remaining P(O)OH group was esterified by alkylation.

Chemical Syntheses of 3′ and 5′ Phosphorylated Oligonucleotides: An Overview
This review provides an overview of the various chemical methods employed in the synthesis of oligonucleotides bearing a phosphate group at their 3′ or 5′ end. Notably, it presents modified phosphoramidites and supports developed for this purpose. Oligonucleotides (ON) with a phosphate monoester group at their 3′ or 5′ end have applications in many ...

Threefold reduction of 9,10,11‐triptindanetrione with LiAlH4 or NaBH4 yields exclusively the C3‐symmetric triol, suggesting an intracomplex (“rolling”) mechanism. However, use of LiAlH4/LiAlD4 (1 : 1) reveals a preceding hydride exchange. Mechanistic implications are discussed including the reduction of the related diketone.

Ready access to six‐membered phosphorus heterocycles through copper‐catalyzed intramolecular hydrophosphorylation of ortho‐alkynyl secondary phosphine oxides is described. The reaction proceedes with high regio‐ and stereoselectivity. An atom‐economic copper‐catalyzed intramolecular hydrophosphorylation of ortho‐alkynyl secondary phosphine oxides ...
