Work-hardening and ductility of artificially aged AA6060 aluminium alloy [PDF]
Abstract The work-hardening and ductility of an artificially aged AA6060 aluminium alloy were studied based on tensile tests of smooth and notched cylindrical samples. The alloy was tested after three processing steps, each followed by artificial aging.

Latent hardening and plastic anisotropy evolution in AA6060 aluminium alloy [PDF]
The crystal plasticity theory predicts that hardening on a particular slip system and its corresponding work-hardening rate will depend on the slip activity on both this slip system and all others. The exact form of this dependence is defined by the latent hardening description in form of the latent hardening matrix or the interaction matrix.

In situ monitoring of the electrochemical reactivity of aluminium alloy AA6060 using the scanning vibrating electrode technique [PDF]
Localized electrochemical activation of aluminium alloy AA6060 surfaces during immersion in chloride-containing aqueous solution has been characterised using the scanning vibrating electrode technique (SVET). Ionic current flows in the electrolyte phase adjacent to corroding microcells are imaged in situ, allowing their evolution with time to be ...

Five isatin thiosemicarbazone derivatives bearing different substituents (R) at 5-position of the isatin moiety, ISA-R, being R = -H, -CH3, -F, -Cl and -NO2, were synthesized and fully characterized. The corrosion inhibition action of ISA-R on AA6060 aluminium alloy in acidic chloride medium was studied in relation to the substituent effects using ...

Herein, the reference radius concept is applied to map the influence of geometric notches on the fatigue strength of laser beam welded joints made of AA7075 and magnetic pulse welded joints of AA7075 and 3D‐printed AlSi10Mg. It is shown that the notch stress fatigue class FAT 178 (v. Mises stress) can be applied for a reliable fatigue assessment.

Ballistic resistance of honeycomb sandwich panels under in-plane high-velocity impact. [PDF]
The dynamic responses of honeycomb sandwich panels (HSPs) subjected to in‐plane projectile impact were studied by means of explicit nonlinear finite element simulations using LS‐DYNA. The HSPs consisted of two identical aluminum alloy face‐sheets and an aluminum honeycomb core featuring three types of unit cell configurations (regular, rectangular ...

A new combo‐transmission solution is proposed for enhancing both the energy efficiency and production benefit in an 100 MN aluminium extrusion workshop. The combo‐transmission scheme can transport the liquid‐nitrogen‐based cold energy and the superconductor‐based electric energy using the same cryogenic energy pipeline.

The current work investigates the erosion‐corrosion behaviour of thermally sprayed tungsten carbide‐10% nickel (WC‐10% Ni) coatings placed on the AA6061 aluminum alloy. The AA6061 aluminum alloy was coated with tungsten carbide –10% nickel coatings utilising a high‐velocityoxy‐fuel (HVOF) spray method.
