Soft Hardware, Flowing Software: Reconfigurable Microfluidics for Adaptable Chemical Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable microfluidic platform based on soft, photo‐printable, and chemically erasable hydrogel structures printed and erased in situ is used to control flow routing, mixing, chemical patterning, and even chemical computing. Using hardware to control chemical computations decouples logic function from molecular composition, demonstrated via ...

Association of activity and subsequent fertility of dairy cows after spontaneous estrus or timed artificial insemination

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2023
: The objective of this observational study was to evaluate the association between increased physical activity at first artificial insemination (AI) and subsequent pregnancy per AI (P/AI) in lactating Holstein cows following spontaneous estrus or a ...

Revealing the Transmission Hologram's Refractive Index Profile Stored in a Photohydrogel: A Structural Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A theoretical model is developed to visualize three‐dimensional refractive index profiles in transmission holographic gratings. In this work, it is applied to photopolymerizable hydrogels, enabling detailed analysis of the internal structure of recorded holograms and their evolution under different degradation conditions.

Mathematical modeling of the spread of the coronavirus under strict social restrictions

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView., 2021
We formulate a simple susceptible‐infectious‐recovery (SIR) model to describe the spread of the coronavirus under strict social restrictions. The transmission rate in this model is exponentially decreasing with time. We find a formula for basic reproduction function and estimate the maximum number of daily infected individuals.

AAM Psychological Syndrome

open access: yesJBNC - JORNAL BRASILEIRO DE NEUROCIRURGIA, 2018
We report three cases of patients with cavernous angioma in a series of 32 cases presenting as initial symptoms of aggressive behavior, anxiety and loss of memory. During the investigation they were diagnosed with cavernomas in limbic system. One man and two women with 58, 56 and 60 year-old, who presented the cavernomas respectively in callosum ...

Functional Analysis of Ligand‐Gated Chloride Channels in a Cnidarian Sheds Light on the Evolution of Inhibitory Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We uncover a large variety of putative inhibitory ligand‐gated ion channels (LGICs) in the phylum Cnidaria, the sister group to all bilaterian animals. Phylogenetic analysis suggests a complex evolutionary history of inhibitory LGICs with diverse neurotransmitter ligands.

Case report and literature review: Rare male aggressive angiomyxoma of the scrotum

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery, 2022
Aggressive angiomyxoma (AAM) is an uncommon locally infiltrative tumor that frequently occurs in the pelvic soft tissues of female patients; it has a high rate of local recurrence. However, AAM is extremely rare in males. Herein, we present the case of a

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...
