Comparison of AASHTO 1993 and MEPDG considering the Egyptian climatic conditions
Innovative Infrastructure Solutions, 2017The current flexible pavement design system in Egypt was adopted primarily from the AASHTO 1993 Design Guide. It is an empirical design method based on the results of the late 1950s AASHO Road test with many limitations. Thus, the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) which is now called Pavement ME Design was developed to overcome those ...

Comparison of Idaho Pavement Design Procedure with AASHTO 1993 and MEPDG Methods
Transportation and Development Institute Congress 2011, 2011Several in service pavements located in different regions of Idaho that have been designed according to the ITD design method were redesigned using the AASHTO 1993 as well as the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) procedures. All designs were conducted at a 50% reliability level.

Integrating the Dynamic Modulus of Asphalt Mixes in the 1993 AASHTO Design Method
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2017The AASHTO Guide for Design of Pavement Structures 1993 (1993 Design Guide) remains the most widely used pavement design manual by highway agencies and design consultants around the world. As defined in the 1993 Design Guide, the structural coefficient of a pavement layer ( a i ) is an ...

This paper presents a generalized framework for determining mechanistically informed layer coefficients (a-values) for asphalt mixtures in the AASHTO empirical pavement design approach. The layer coefficients influence the layer thicknesses and consequently the structural capacity of pavements.

The pavement structural design of one road is one of the variables that can most influence the cost of construction and maintenance of the pavement. For the design of pavements, one of the most used methodologies in Latin America is the proposal for AASHTO in 1993.

Empirical pavement design methods resulting from the AASHO Road Tests are still the most adopted around the word. Since their development, asphalt properties have greatly improved and advances in the theories of mechanics enhanced the ability to predict the response of pavement materials.

PERBANDINGAN TEBAL LAPIS TAMBAH (OVERLAY) ANTARA METODE SNI 03-1732-1989-F DENGAN AASHTO 1993
Jurnal Ilmiah Teknik SipilIn general, the pavement construction commonly used in Indonesia is flexible pavement. Flexible pavement is pavement that uses asphalt as a binding material consisting of layers placed on top of compacted subgrade. To design a pavement layer, especially flexible pavement, there are various methods such as the SNI 03-1732-1989 F method and the AASHTO ...
