Toxicity, joint action effect, and enzymatic assays of abamectin, chlorfenapyr, and pyridaben against the two-spotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae

open access: yesJournal of Basic and Applied Zoology, 2022
Background In the present study, the comparative toxicity of three different acaricides (abamectin, chlorfenapyr, and pyridaben) in technical and formulated forms was assessed on the eggs and adult females of a susceptible strain of Tetranychus urticae .

Ivermectin Quantitation with an Abamectin Internal Standard [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL, 1998
abstract The potent antiparasitic ivermectin is detected at low concentrations (ng/g) in liver and muscle tissue by liquid chromatography after conversion to a fluorescent derivative with 1-methylimidazole and trifluoroacetic anhydride. This acetylation reaction can be compromised by residual water that eads to decreased yields.

Control failure risk, resistance and enzymatic activity of neurotoxic insecticides in Brazilian populations of Leucoptera coffeella (Lepidoptera: Lyonetiidae)

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Bioassays of 36 Leucoptera coffeella populations revealed resistance to neurotoxic insecticides, control failures of ≤62.9% and enzyme activity variation, with particularly high GST and low AChE levels. Abstract Background Leucoptera coffeella is a key pest of coffee crops in Brazil, causing significant damage by mining coffee leaves.

The Effect of Abamectin on Locusta Migratoria Neurosecretory Cells and Mid Gut, Using Ultrastructure Examination, Oxidative Stress Study, and In-Silico Molecular Docking

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
(1) Background: Few studies have been carried out to appraise abamectin toxicity toward Locusta migratoria nymphs. (2) Methods: This study aimed to evaluate the cytotoxic effect of abamectin as an insecticide through examining the changes and damage ...

Conservative care in successful treatment of abamectin poisoning

open access: yesToxicology International, 2014
Human intoxication with abamectin is an uncommon but potentially fatal cause of pesticide poisoning. In this study a 42-year-old man was intoxicated with 3600 mg abamectin orally. On admission patient was fully alert with the smell of the poison from the mouth. Vital signs were normal and conjunctiva was hyperemic.

Abamectin Efficacy on the Potato Cyst Nematode Globodera pallida [PDF]

open access: yesPlants, 2019
The potato cyst nematode Globodera pallida is a major pest of the potato crop. Abamectin is a biological pesticide showing high nematicide activity, but its efficacy to control G. pallida has not been investigated to date. In this study, combination of different abamectin concentrations ranging from 1.125 to 36 µg/mL x exposure times from 24 to 384 h ...

“Alien versus predator”: predatory effect of coccinellid Exochomus quadripustulatus on the scale insect Toumeyella parvicornis. An open‐field experimentation on the Pinus pinea of Rome

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
The release of gravid Exochomus quadripustulatus females proved to be effective in containing Toumeyella parvicornis infestations on stone pine trees, under open‐field condition. The ladybugs caused a lower infestation level compared to the trees that did not receive any ladybugs during the observation season.

Parasite management practices used by owners of Australian Pony Club horses and the factors influencing their decision‐making processes

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
There is a lack of information on horse parasite management practices currently used by individual horse owners in Australia. A voluntary, anonymous online survey was developed for and distributed by Pony Club Australia to its members seeking information on horse population; housing; paddock, manure and parasite management; and owner attitudes.

Cross tolerance of carmine spider mite, Tetranychus cinnabarinus, to abamectin and high temperature

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2010
The susceptible strain (SS), the abamectin resistant strain (RA) and the high temperature tolerant strain (RH) from Tetranychus cinnabarinus were used to study cross tolerance to abamectin and high temperature using the methods of bioassay and ...
