Explicit algebraic solution of Zolotarev's First Problem for low-degree polynomials
E.I. Zolotarev's classical so-called First Problem (ZFP), which was posed to him by P.L. Chebyshev, is to determine, for a given \(n\in{\mathbb N}\backslash\{1\}\) and for a given \(s\in{\mathbb R}\backslash\{0\}\), the monic polynomial solution \(Z ...

Équation de Pell–Abel et applications
In this paper, we show that there are solutions of degree $r$ of the equation of Pell–Abel on some real hyperelliptic curve of genus $g$ if and only if $ r > g$.

Finiteness theorems on elliptical billiards and a variant of the dynamical Mordell–Lang conjecture
Abstract We offer some theorems, mainly finiteness results, for certain patterns in elliptical billiards, related to periodic trajectories; these seem to be the first finiteness results in this context. For instance, if two players hit a ball at a given position and with directions forming a fixed angle in (0,π)$(0,\pi )$, there are only finitely many ...

Summary The relationship between BMI and health‐related quality of life (HRQoL) critically affects regulatory approval of interventions for weight loss, but evidence of the association is inconsistent. A higher standard of evidence than that available was sought with an IPD meta‐analysis of 10,884 people enrolled in five randomized controlled trials of

Neural Coding of Fundamental Frequency and Processing of Discrete Pitch Accents in Middle Age
Middle‐aged adults exhibited reduced neural encoding of fundamental frequency (F0) in response to both syllabic and naturalistic speech compared with younger adults. They also showed less distinct cortical processing of pitch accents, reflected by increased classification uncertainty in a neural network model.
