A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Label-free correlation adaptive optics using even-symmetrical thermal light [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Photonics
In this work, we present a quantum-inspired, guide-star-free wavefront correction technique termed correlation adaptive optics (CAO) that leverages intensity correlations in even-symmetrical thermal light (ETL) to achieve label-free adaptive optical ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Clusters of galaxies in the microwave band: influence of the motion of the Solar System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this work we consider the changes of the SZ cluster brightness, flux and number counts induced by the motion of the Solar System with respect to the frame defined by the cosmic microwave background (CMB).

Research Progress in Information Processing Methods for Computational Optical Systems

open access: yesShuju Caiji Yu Chuli
Aberration is a crucial factor that restricts the imaging performance of optical systems, leading to degraded imaging effects such as blurred details and reduced resolution.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Phase aberration correction in ultrasonic phased array non-destructive testing systems

open access: yesJournal of Measurement Science and Instrumentation, 2015
Phase aberration correction for medical ultrasound systems has attracted a great deal of attention.Since phased array techniques are now widely employed for industrial non-destructive testing(NDT)applications in various fields, the problem of phase ...
