Between and Within Bay Differences in Mesozooplankton Assemblages in the Central and Eastern Baltic Sea: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesBiological Diversity, EarlyView.
Mesozooplankton assemblages differed significantly both between and within Baltic Sea bays, driven mainly by local salinity and temperature gradients. Distinct communities occurred over distances of less than 1 km, demonstrating strong fine‐scale spatial variability.

Ethylene Modulates Rice Root Plasticity under Abiotic Stresses [PDF]

open access: yes
Plants live in constantly changing environments that are often unfavorable or stressful. Root development strongly affects plant growth and productivity, and the developmental plasticity of roots helps plants to survive under abiotic stress conditions ...

A mosaic of microclimates: biodiversity outcomes and wildlife habitat potential in large‐scale solar facilities

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rapid global expansion of photovoltaic (PV) solar facilities, now comprising nearly 80% of the recent and projected growth of renewable electricity, represents one of the most significant land‐use changes of the 21st century. While PV facilities are critical for decarbonising energy systems, their large spatial footprint and infrastructure

Alleviation of Plant Abiotic Stress: Mechanistic Insights into Emerging Applications of Phosphate-Solubilizing Microorganisms in Agriculture [PDF]

open access: yes
Global agricultural productivity and ecosystem sustainability face escalating threats from multiple abiotic stresses, particularly heavy metal contamination, drought, and soil salinization.

Advances in causal discovery methods for ecological time series

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Recent advances in data collection technologies (e.g. automated sensor networks, satellite remote sensing, and high‐throughput sequencing) have greatly expanded the availability of ecological time series, enabling new opportunities for causal analyses in dynamic ecosystems.

MaMYBR30, a Novel 1R-MYB, Plays Important Roles in Plant Development and Abiotic Stress Resistance [PDF]

open access: yes
The V-myb myeloblastosis viral oncogene homolog (MYB) family participate in various bioprocesses including development and abiotic stress responses. In the present study, we first report a 1R SHAQKYF-class MYB, MaMYBR30, in mulberry.
