Ablative Light Sources

Applied Optics, 1968
Electrical and optical properties of ablative light sources are discussed. For the range of parameters studied, the energy balance shows that it is possible to obtain approximately one-third of the energy delivered to the lamp as radiative energy (in the 0.35-1.1-micro band); two-thirds are used in the buildup processes of the discharge.

The Immunology of Ablative Radiation

Seminars in Radiation Oncology, 2015
Radiation has been a staple of cancer therapy since the early 20th century and is implemented in nearly half of current cancer treatment plans. Originally, the genotoxic function of radiation led to a focus on damage and repair pathways associated with deoxyribonucleic acid as important therapeutic targets to augment radiation efficacy.

Endobronchial Ablative Therapies

Clinics in Chest Medicine, 2013
Endobronchial ablative therapies are used to address a variety of malignant and benign airway lesions. By utilizing endobronchial ablative techniques patients with symptomatic airway lesions may receive significant symptom improvement, improved quality of life, and improved life expectancy. Endobronchial ablative therapies include laser, electrocautery,

Non-Ablative and Ablative Devices in Acne Scars

2018
This chapter reviews the various light sources, non-ablative and ablative lasers, and radiofrequency devices for acne scarring. Acne scars are polymorphous and require a multidimensional approach to successful treatments. Scars can be atrophic, hypertrophic, sharply marginated, incongruous, distensible and non-distensible.

On Not Being Able to Aggress*

British Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, 1966
An experiment was conducted with male college students in order to demonstrate the importance of cues in eliciting aggressive behaviour from angered persons. Most of the subjects were deliberately provoked by giving them an excessive number of electric shocks which supposedly were administered by a peer in a nearby room.

Able to Work?

British Journal of Occupational Therapy, 1986
Occupational therapists have traditionally included work assessments and resettlement in their holistic approach to disabled workers. In Britain, a second approach to the evaluation of disabled workers was developed outside the National Health Service (NHS), within the present system of Employment Rehabilitation Centres (ERCs).

KARL and ABL

1993
This paper is not a tutorial. Because of limited space available here this paper gives only a limited survey on the evolution of the hardware description language KARL, its derivatives and environments. We mainly stress such features, which are different from most other hardware languages, such as reaching down til switching level, implementation of a ...
