ODE trajectories as abnormal curves in Carnot groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We prove that for every polynomial ODE there exists a Carnot group where the trajectories of the ODE lift to abnormal curves. The proof defines an explicit construction to determine a covector for the resulting abnormal curves. Using this method we give new examples of abnormal curves in Carnot groups of high step.

Anatomical Abnormalities in Autism?

open access: yesCerebral Cortex, 2016
Substantial controversy exists regarding the presence and significance of anatomical abnormalities in autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The release of the Autism Brain Imaging Data Exchange (∼1000 participants, age 6-65 years) offers an unprecedented ...

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

Zero-bias Deep Learning Enabled Quick and Reliable Abnormality Detection in IoT [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Abnormality detection is essential to the performance of safety-critical and latency-constrained systems. However, as systems are becoming increasingly complicated with a large quantity of heterogeneous data, conventional statistical change point detection methods are becoming less effective and efficient.

Abnormalities of confidence in psychiatry: an overview and future perspectives

open access: yesTranslational Psychiatry, 2018
Our behavior is constantly accompanied by a sense of confidence and its’ precision is critical for adequate adaptation and survival. Importantly, abnormal confidence judgments that do not reflect reality may play a crucial role in pathological decision ...

Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...
