Gender‐inclusive language in midwifery and perinatal services: A guide and argument for justice

Pretransplant serum levels of endothelial cell activation markers are associated with graft loss and mortality after kidney transplantation

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Immunology, Volume 97, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Long‐term allograft survival remains a challenge in kidney transplantation. In this study, we aimed to identify biomarkers for potentially modifiable pathways involved in the outcome of kidney transplantation. We tested the hypothesis that a pre‐existing systemic environment with endothelial cell activation in the recipient is associated with ...

Population designations in biomedical research: Limitations and perspectives

open access: yesHLA, Volume 101, Issue 1, Page 3-15, January 2023., 2023
In biomedical research, population differences are of central interest. Variations in the frequency and severity of diseases and in treatment effects among human subpopulation groups are common in many medical conditions. Unfortunately, the practices in terms of subpopulation labeling do not exhibit the level of rigor one would expect in biomedical ...

Asymptotic Bayes Optiamlity for Sparse Count Data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Consider a situation of analyzing high-dimensional count data containing an excess amount of zeroes and small non-zero counts. Under the assumption that the observations are modeled by a Poisson distribution, we are interested in simultaneous testing of the means of those observations.
