Antenatal dexamethasone for late preterm delivery: Rate of complete course and neonatal outcomes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This retrospective cohort study aimed to assess the rate of complete dexamethasone administration among late preterm deliveries and its impact on neonatal outcomes. Methods We reviewed medical records of 1500 late preterm deliveries (gestational age 34–36 + 6 weeks) between January 2018 and December 2020, analyzing baseline ...

The freedom to mentalize: The influence of socio‐demographic indicators of empowerment on parental reflective functioning

open access: yesInfant Mental Health Journal: Infancy and Early Childhood, EarlyView.
Abstract Parental reflective functioning (PRF), a critical construct in the field of infant mental health, has been under investigated in non‐WEIRD countries, where the majority of the world's infants are born. Studies from WEIRD contexts have demonstrated a relationship between socio‐demographic and parental reflective functioning scores.

Maternal gut microbiota‐derived daidzein prevents osteoporosis in female offspring following prenatal prednisone exposure

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Prenatal prednisone therapy (PPT)/prenatal prednisone exposure (PPE) induces long bone dysplasia, reduced peak bone mass (PBM), and increased osteoporosis susceptibility in female offspring. Maternal gut microbiota metabolite daidzein (DAI) mediates PPE‐induced osteoporosis susceptibility in female adult offspring.

Listeria monocytogenes membrane vesicles disrupting intestinal epithelial barrier function via modulating macrophage inflammatory responses

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Bacterial extracellular vesicles (BEVs) are actively secreted nanostructures that play a unique role in the pathogenesis of bacterial infections. In this study, we established an intestinal epithelial cell (IEC)/macrophage coculture system and found that Listeria monocytogenes (LM) membrane vesicles (MVs) acted on macrophages and caused ...

Association Between Fetal Myocardial Alterations and Congenital Heart Disease Based on Post‐Mortem Myocardial MRI

open access: yesiRADIOLOGY, EarlyView.
Applying myocardial parametric mapping based on post‐mortem MRI is feasible for non‐invasive tissue characterization. We speculated that the elevated T2 relaxation may be an essential myocardial tissue characterization of cyanotic congenital heart disease, potentially suggesting myocardial edema, which may provide evidence to guide appropriate ...

Prenatal Diagnosis and Clinical Phenotypic Heterogeneity of 22q11.2 Microdeletion Syndrome Based on a Single Center Retrospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Chromosome 22q11.2 microdeletion syndrome (22q11.2DS) is a common congenital disorder with high clinical phenotypic heterogeneity. In this study, we retrospectively investigated the incidence of prenatal diagnosis of 22q11.2DS in a single center and summarized its clinical manifestations to expand the phenotypic database ABSTRACT Objective To ...
