Traveling fronts in active-passive particle mixtures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The emergent dynamics in phase-separated mixtures of isometric active and passive Brownian particles is studied numerically in two dimensions. A novel steady-state of well-defined traveling fronts is observed, where the interface between the dense and ...

A phase I, randomized, single-dose study evaluating the pharmacokinetic equivalence of biosimilar ABP 215 and bevacizumab in healthy adult men

open access: yesCancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology, 2017
PurposeThis study compared the pharmacokinetic (PK) profiles of the proposed biosimilar ABP 215 with bevacizumab in healthy males.MethodsIn this randomized, single-blind, single-dose, three-arm, parallel-group study, healthy subjects were randomized to ...

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and blood pressure control in patients with coronary artery disease—A randomized controlled trial

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology. Hypertension, 2021
Background: Office blood pressure (OBP) is used for diagnosing and treating hypertension but ambulatory blood pressure measurement (ABPM) associates more accurately with patient outcome.

Detection of impaired cerebral autoregulation improves by increasing arterial blood pressure variability

open access: yes, 2012
Although the assessment of dynamic cerebral autoregulation (CA) based on measurements of spontaneous fluctuations in arterial blood pressure (ABP) and cerebral blood flow (CBF) is a convenient and much used method, there remains uncertainty about its ...

Phylogenetic and phenotypic divergence of an insular radiation of birds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Evolutionary divergence of lineages is one of the key mechanisms underpinning large scale patterns in biogeography and biodiversity. Island systems have been highly influential in shaping theories of evolutionary diversification and here I use the ...

The ABP Dendrimer, a Drug-Candidate against Inflammatory Diseases That Triggers the Activation of Interleukin-10 Producing Immune Cells

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
The ABP dendrimer, which is built on a phosphorus-based scaffold and bears twelve azabisphosphonate groups at its surface, is one of the dendrimers that has been shown to display immuno-modulatory and anti-inflammatory effects towards the human immune ...

Mucin‐Inspired Filamentous Sulfated Copolymers Effectively Inhibit Human Respiratory Syncytial Virus (hRSV) Infectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Virucidal polymers serve as effective antivirals by not only inhibiting viruses but also destroying them. Inspired by the chemical properties of mucin‐mimetics, dendronized polyglycerol‐sulfated, mucin‐inspired amphiphilic copolymers (MIACPs) have been developed.

Accelerated Backpressure Algorithm

open access: yes, 2013
We develop an Accelerated Back Pressure (ABP) algorithm using Accelerated Dual Descent (ADD), a distributed approximate Newton-like algorithm that only uses local information.

Precise Construction of an Antimicrobial Peptide Targeting Bacterial Cell Membranes Derived From Natural Peptides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An AMP (P 3‐3R‐8I) based on natural peptides, which can target bacterial cell membranes, was precisely constructed via amino acid mutation. P 3‐3R‐8I exhibits antibacterial capability which could be attributed to the ability of P 3‐3R‐8I to quickly penetrate bacterial cell membranes and then to bind to bacterial DNA.
