Economic convergence of the Eastern Partnership countries towards the EU-13 [PDF]
The aim of the paper is to analyse if the Eastern Partnership countries converge towards the new Member States of the European Union, the EU-13. Beta convergence, which is based on the neoclassical growth theory, tests the hypothesis that poor countries ...

Peptide Sequencing With Single Acid Resolution Using a Sub‐Nanometer Diameter Pore
To sequence a single molecule of Aβ1−42–sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), the aggregate is forced through a sub‐nanopore 0.4 nm in diameter spanning a 4.0 nm thick membrane. The figure is a visual molecular dynamics (VMD) snapshot depicting the translocation of Aβ1−42–SDS through the pore; only the peptide, the SDS, the Na+ (yellow/green) and Cl− (cyan ...

A new two-step iterative method for solving absolute value equations
We describe a new two-step iterative method for solving the absolute value equations Ax−|x|=b $Ax-|x|=b$, which is an NP-hard problem. This method is globally convergent under suitable assumptions.

Emergent Magnetic Structures at the 2D Limit of the Altermagnet MnTe
Renewed interest in MnTe has emerged due to its intriguing altermagnetism, a newly identified form of magnetism distinct from conventional ferro‐, antiferro‐, or paramagnetism. By combining magnetic X‐ray absorption spectroscopy, scanning tunnelling microscopy, and first‐principles theory, this study reveals that thinning MnTe to the 2D limit ...

Absolute and conditional convergence within Sonora state municipalities, 1989- 2004
This paper tries to identify the existence of convergence, absolut as muchas conditional, for the municipalities that conform the state of Sonora. Taking as abase the methodologic excercise of Mankiw, Romer and Weill (1992) that considersthe first model ...

Local Thermal Conductivity Patterning in Rotating Lattice Crystals of Anisotropic Sb2S3
Microscale control of thermal conductivity in Sb2S3 is demonstrated via laser‐induced rotating lattice crystals. Thermal conductivity imaging reveals marked thermal transport anisotropy, with the c axis featuring amorphous‐like transport, whereas in‐plane directions (a, b) exhibit 3.5x and 1.7x larger thermal conductivity.

Quantifying Spin Defect Density in hBN via Raman and Photoluminescence Analysis
An all‐optical method is presented for quantifying the density of boron vacancy spin defects in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). By correlating Raman and photoluminescence signals with irradiation fluence, defect‐induced Raman modes are identified and established an relationship linking optical signatures to absolute defect densities. This enables direct

Multiple Twinning in Nacre and Aragonite
Electron backscatter diffraction map of a cluster of geologic aragonite, exhibiting single, double, and triple twins. The whole cluster is approximately 2 cm wide. Colors indicate crystal orientations, so that pixels where the a‐, b‐, and c‐axis is perpendicular to the image plane are green, red, and blue, respectively.
