ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

\textit{H. Bor} [Indian J. Pure Appl. Math. 18, 330-336 (1987; Zbl 0631.40004)] has proved factor theorem for \(|\overline{N},p_ n|_ k\), \(k\geq 1\) with certain set of conditions. In this paper the author has assumed weaker conditions and has proved a more general factor theorem for \(|\overline{N},p_ n|_ k\), \(k\geq 1\).
