Absolute rate theory for spherulite growth of polymeric substances

open access: closedJournal of Polymer Science, 1960
AbstractThe rate of spherulite growth has been measured for various polymers. Several authors have developed the theory for the rate with emphasis on its temperature dependence but without reference to its absolute value. In this paper, a theory of the absolute rate of growth is put forward on the basis of the perfect crystal growth mechanism of Volmer‐

Relationships among Absolute Growth Rate, Relative Growth Rate and Feed Conversion during Postweaning Feedlot Performance Tests

open access: closedJournal of Animal Science, 1988
Knowledge of the relationships between absolute growth rate (AGR), relative growth rate (RGR) and feed conversion (FCONV) of bulls in postweaning feedlot performance tests can give cattle producers important information for selecting superior sires.

Modeling developmental growth stages in mango on the basis of absolute vs. relative growth rates

open access: closedActa Horticulturae, 2017
Plant development, the change in plant structure, and growth, the increase of organ size over time are often studied as two separate processes. The concept of developmental growth stages has been recently proposed in mango to integrate both morphological traits and growth measurements.

Dimensions of the growing shoot and the absolute growth rate of a poplar shoot

open access: closedTree Physiology, 1986
Plants of Populus euramericana (Dode) Guinier Robusta were grown in sub-irrigated, gravel-filled containers under conditions of constant temperature and irradiance. Lengths of leaves and internodes and diameters of internodes were measured three times a week. Dates of internode maturation were estimated from the growth curves of the internodes.

Absolute growth rates

open access: closed, 1990
The simplest index of plant growth; a rate of change in size, an increment in size per unit time. Most commonly applied to total dry weight or total leaf area per plant.
