Heat stress effects on the genetics of growth traits in Thai native chickens (Pradu Hang dum) [PDF]

open access: yesAnimal Bioscience
Objective The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of heat stress on the growth traits and genetic parameters of Thai native chickens. Methods A total of 16,487 records for growth traits of Thai native chickens between 2017 and 2022 were

Experimental culture of snook Centropomus undecimalis and chucumite Centropomus parallelus (Perciformes: Centropomidae) in artisanal earthen ponds

open access: yesCiencias Marinas, 2006
The common snook, Centropomus undecimalis, and the locally called chucumite, Centropomus parallelus, occur naturally in the Gulf of Mexico. They are considered high value species and are regularly exploited in coastal fisheries, particularly in the ...

Characterizing Parental Concerns About Lasting Impacts of Treatment in Children With B‐Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, and while most children in high‐resource settings are cured, therapy carries risks for long‐term toxicities. Understanding parents’ concerns about these late effects is essential to guide anticipatory support and inform evolving therapeutic approaches ...

Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Richness–biomass relationships change with increasing acid rain intensity by shifting from positive to negative selection

open access: yesEcological Indicators, 2022
The species interactions can be affected by environmental stress; however, how such change affects the plant species richness–biomass relationship is still unclear.
