ABSTRACT Geometric nonlinearity arises in problems involving large displacements and rotations, where traditional linear assumptions fail. In the finite element community, several formulations have been developed to address these complexities; the corotational finite element formulation (CRF) has proven to be an efficient alternative to generic total ...

In this manuscript, we proposed physics‐informed surrogate model, called FENet, for the first time to solve the interaction of pantograph‐catenary system. In recent years, much progress has been achieved in PCS modelling solutions. Existing solutions, however, suffer from two significant limitations: 1) An urgent concern arises regarding the ...

Dynamics of Variable Stator Vane Adjustment Mechanism Considering the Flexibility of Linkage
The variable stator vane adjustment mechanism plays a vital role in preventing the occurrence of surge due to its complex multistage linkage mechanism. Initially, the flexible body is modeled using the absolute nodal coordinate formulation method, followed by the formulation of rigid–flexible coupled dynamics equations using the Lagrange equations of ...

Steady Flow Over a Finite Patch of Submerged Flexible Vegetation
Abstract An immersed boundary‐finite element with soft‐body dynamics has been implemented to study steady flow over a finite patch of submerged flexible aquatic vegetation. The flow structure interaction model can resolve the flow interactions with flexible vegetation, and hence the reconfiguration of vegetation blades to ambient flow.

In this paper, a ground‐based experimental system for solar array active vibration suppression has been established. Firstly, in order to establish an accurate model of the solar array, the solar array is regarded as a flexible cantilevered thin plate, and the corresponding dynamical equations are derived using the absolute nodal coordinate method.
