Electron beam standby absorber system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Electron beam energy is absorbed by deflectors which allow beam distribution over an absorber located between the deflectors and workpiece. The undeflected beam passes through a hole in the absorber when the deflection is de-energized, when energized ...

Quasi-analytical solutions of hybrid platform and the optimization of highly sensitive thin-film sensors for terahertz radiation

open access: yes, 2016
We present quasi-analytical solutions (QANS) of hybrid platform (HP) comprising metallic grating (MG) and stacked-dielectric layers for terahertz (THz) radiation. The QANS are validated by finite difference time domain simulation.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Application of Metamaterial in Perfect Absorber

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2016
Electromagnetic response of metamaterials is not only determined by its component materials but also the microstructure and arrangements of its resonant elements. The perfect absorber prepared by metamaterial (PMA) can realize 100% absorption in specific

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

An Omnidirectional Polarization Detector Based on a Metamaterial Absorber

open access: yesSensors, 2016
The theory, design, simulation, fabrication, and performance of an omnidirectional polarization detector (PD) with two resonances located in the X and Ka ranges based on a metamaterial absorber (MMA) are presented in this paper. The sandwich structure of

Terahertz Saturable Absorption in Superconducting Metamaterials

open access: yes, 2016
We present a superconducting metamaterial saturable absorber at terahertz frequencies. The absorber consists of an array of split ring resonators (SRRs) etched from a 100nm YBaCu3O7 (YBCO) film.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

The Equilibrium Photoionized Absorber in 3C351

open access: yes, 1998
We present two ROSAT PSPC observations of the radio-loud, lobe-dominated quasar 3C 351, which shows an `ionized absorber' in its X-ray spectrum. The factor 1.7 change in flux in the $\sim$2~years between the observations allows a test of models for this ...
