Analysis of antireflection coatings using the FD-TD method with the PML absorbing boundary condition

open access: yes, 1996
A step-index optical waveguide with an antireflection coating is analyzed using the finite-difference time-domain (FD-TD) method combined with the perfectly matched layer absorbing boundary condition (PML-ABC).

Convolution quadrature based BEM in acoustics for absorbing boundary conditions

open access: yes, 2016
In many fields of engineering the acoustic behavior has to be determined, e.g. the sound distribution in a room or the sound radiation into the surrounding.

Explicit P1 Finite Element Solution of the Maxwell-Wave Equation Coupling Problem with Absorbing b. c.

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, we address the approximation of the coupling problem for the wave equation and Maxwell’s equations of electromagnetism in the time domain in terms of electric field by means of a nodal linear finite element discretization in space ...

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Parameter Identification with FEM on Absorbing Boundary Condition and Genetic Algorithm (GA)

open access: yes, 2011
Researches of wave motion are important on theory and application. The forward problem and the backward problem are the two aspects that relate with each other.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

One-Step Leapfrog FLOD BOR-FDTD Method for Electromagnetic Wave Propagation in Drude Plasma With CPML

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
In this paper, we proposed and implemented a one-step leapfrog fundamental locally one-dimensional body of revolution finite-difference time-domain (FLOD BOR-FDTD) method to address the problem of electromagnetic wave propagation in axisymmetric Drude ...

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.
