Absorbing boundary condition for Bloch–Floquet eigenmodes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America B, 2013
We present an absorbing boundary condition for electromagnetic frequency domain simulations of photonic crystals and metamaterials. This boundary condition can simultaneously absorb multiple Bloch-Floquet eigenmodes of a periodic crystal, including both propagating and evanescent modes. The photonic crystal or metamaterial in question can include lossy,

Error analysis for absorbing boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yesNumerische Mathematik, 1987
An estimate is derived for the error committed by the introduction of artificial boundaries and corresponding artificial boundary conditions when solving wave equations on unbounded domains. The estimate has two terms. One is proportional to the largest reflection coefficient for the artificial boundary condition, the maximum taken only on those rays ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Implementation of Unsplit Perfectly Matched Layer Absorbing Boundary Condition in 3 Dimensional Finite Difference Time Domain Method

open access: yesArid Zone Journal of Engineering, Technology and Environment, 2017
The C++ programming language was used to implement three-dimensional (3-D) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) technique to simulate radiation of high frequency electromagnetic waves in free space.

Modified Born series with virtual absorbing boundary enabling large-scale electromagnetic simulation

open access: yesCommunications Physics
Numerical electromagnetic field solvers are significant for nanophotonic and photoelectronic technology, especially for computational imaging, metasurface, and biomedical microscopy, in which large-scale simulations serve as the core.

Adaptive-Coefficient Finite Difference Frequency Domain Method for Solving Time-Fractional Cattaneo Equation with Absorbing Boundary Condition

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
The time-fractional Cattaneo (TFC) equation is a practical tool for simulating anomalous dynamics in physical diffusive processes. The existing numerical solutions to the TFC equation generally deal with the Dirichlet boundary conditions.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

A Finite Volume Method for Elastic Waves in Heterogeneous, Anisotropic and Fractured Media

open access: yesARC Geophysical Research
Numerical modeling of elastic wave propagation in the subsurface requires applicability to heterogeneous, anisotropic and discontinuous media, as well as support of free surface boundary conditions.
