Effect of doping on the optical properties of lanthanum-gallium tantalate [PDF]
Nominally pure lanthanum-gallium tantalate La3Ga5.5Ta0.5O14 crystals doped with aluminum, silicon and gallium oxide to above stoichiometric content have been grown by the Czochralski technique in iridium crucibles in argon and in agron with addition of ...

Laser-produced continua for absorption spectroscopy in the VUV and XUV [PDF]
Recent work has shown that with appropriate targets, laser-produced plasmas provide clean essentially linefree continua suitable for absorption spectroscopy from 40 to 2000 Å.

Optical absorption spectra of bipolarons [PDF]
The absorption of large bipolarons is investigated using the path-integral method. The response of a bipolaron to an external electromagnetic field is derived in the framework of the memory-function approach. The bipolaron optical absorption spectrum consists of a series of relatively narrow peaks.

Identification of melamine in milk using mid-infrared spectrometry [PDF]
The paper presents a study of the infrared spectra of milk with melamine in the middle spectral range. The presence of absorption bands in the infrared spectra of a standard sample of melamine, milk without it and with its addition in different ...

CHEMICALLY MODIFIED PHOTOSYNTHETIC BACTERIAL REACTION CENTERS: CIRCULAR DICHROISM, RAMAN RESONANCE, LOW TEMPERATURE ABSORPTION, FLUORESCENCE AND ODMR SPECTRA AND POLYPEPTIDE COMPOSITION OF BOROHYDRIDE TREATED REACTION CENTERS FROM Rhodobacter sphaeroides R26 [PDF]
Reaction centers from Rhodobacter sphaeroides have been modified by treatment with sodium borohydride similar to the original procedure [Ditson et al., Biochim. Biophys. Acta 766, 623 (1984)], and investigated spectroscopically and by gel electrophoresis.

Electronic spectroscopy of cold ions in a radio-frequency trap [PDF]
The low density of ions in mass spectrometers generally precludes direct absorption measurements. The spectrum of ions can nonetheless be obtained by using resonance two-color photofragmentation or multiphoton photofragmentation techniques.
