Computer simulation of the skin reflectance spectra [PDF]
The reflectance spectra of the human skin in visible and near-infrared (NIR) spectral region have been calculated using the Monte Carlo technique, and the specular and internal reflection on the medium surface is taken into account.

Systematic Theoretical Study on the pH-Dependent Absorption and Fluorescence Spectra of Flavins
Flavins are a class of organic compounds with the basic structure of 7,8-dimethy-10-alkyl isoalloxazine. They are ubiquitous in nature and participate in many biochemical reactions. Due to various existing forms, there is a lack of systematic research on

Electronic spectroscopy of open-chain and aromatic hydrocarbon cations in neon matrices [PDF]
Considerable scientific interest has been devoted to the so-called diffuse interstellar bands (DIBs)—hundreds of absorption features of different strength and width, located in the visible and near infrared, and arising from the interstellar medium ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Modeling of phytochrome absorption spectra
Phytochromes constitute one of the six well‐characterized families of photosensory proteins in Nature. From the viewpoint of computational modeling, however, phytochromes have been the subject of much fewer studies than most other families of photosensory proteins, which is likely a consequence of relevant high‐resolution structural data becoming ...

Infrared absorption spectra in study of mutarotational equilibria of monosaccharides
The infrared absorption spectra (in the range of 5000 to 250 cm-1) of 6 anomeric pairs of sugars and of 12 single anomers are presented, together with the spectra (in the range of 5000 to 667 cm-1) of the dry lyophilizates of the respective equilibrium ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
