Electronic Spectroscopy of Isolated DNA Polyanions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In solution, UV-vis spectroscopy is often used to investigate structural changes in biomolecules (i.e., nucleic acids), owing to changes in the environment of their chromophores (i.e., the nucleobases).

Functional Characterization of Pseudoidium neolycopersici Photolyase Reveals Mechanisms Behind the Efficacy of Nighttime UV on Powdery Mildew Suppression

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2020
Powdery mildews can be controlled by brief exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation with devastating effect on their developmental stages including conidia germination. The treatment effect can be impaired by subsequent exposure to UV-A/blue light.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Collision-induced Absorption Spectra of N2 and CH4

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Collision-induced spectra are essential for radiative transfer modeling of Titan's atmosphere. We present experimental spectra of nitrogen–methane mixtures with an accompanying fit of N _2 -CH _4 collision-induced absorption in the 30–400 cm ^−1 region ...

Accelerated inverse design of broadband microperforated panel absorbers based on probabilistic generative model

open access: yesResults in Engineering
The inverse design of acoustic metamaterials for broadband sound absorption remains challenging due to the complex coupling dynamics and the ill-posed nature of mapping target absorption spectra to geometric parameters.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Polarized absorption spectra of [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 1996
The polarized absorption spectra of europium bromate enneahydrate have been recorded at ambient temperature and at 77 K between 16 500 and 36 000 . The site symmetry is approximated by a symmetry. 63 crystal field levels have been assigned. The energy level scheme is parametrized in terms of 20 free ion parameters and four crystal field parameters. The

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Research on the Identification of Composite Spices Based on Terahertz Spectroscopy and Machine Learning Algorithms

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection
The similar appearance and composition of pungent spices frequently give rise to adulteration, which not only causes market confusion but also results in inconsistent product quality.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
